According to Japanese laws and regulations, all residents of Japan must submit `My Number (Individual Number)` information before they can send money internationally starting JANUARY 1, 2019.

NOTE:

CASE 1: If you have a 'Notification Card'

CASE 2: If you have a 'Individual Number Card' with your photo

Follow the instructions to register it via Smiles APP. [ SHOW INSTRUCTIONS ]

CASE 3: If You Lost or Have No Idea about Your My Number Information

Get a copy of 'Juminyo(住民票)' printed with your Individual Number, which can be used for that purpose with Smiles service. It costs 300 Japanese Yen, but it can be issued in some minutes. You do not have to issue new My Number Card. Then register it via Smiles APP. [ SHOW INSTRUCTIONS ]

How to register your Notification Card

1) Install the latest version of Smiles APP via App Store or Google Play.
2) Open the APP and tap [Menu].
3) Tap [Account Manager].
4) Select [My Number info].
5) Select [Notification card] and tap [Next].
6) Type your 12 digits ‘Individual Number’ which is printed on the FRONT SIDE of your Notification Card.
7) Take photo of front side of your Card, then upload.
8) Take photo of back side of your Card, then upload.
9) Tap [Done] to complete.
10) Wait for around a couple of business days for the validation of your submission. If the indication turns 'Confirmed OK', you will be able to continue using remittance service after January 1st, 2019.

How to register your Individual Number Card

1) Install the latest version of Smiles APP via App Store or Google Play.
2) Open the APP and tap [Menu].
3) Tap [Account Manager].
4) Select [My Number info].
5) Select [Individual number card] and tap [Next].
6) Type your 12 digits ‘Individual Number’ which is printed on the BACK SIDE of your Individual Number Card.
7) Take photo of front side of your Card, then upload.
8) Take photo of back side of your Card, then upload.
9) Tap [Done] to complete.
10) Wait around a couple of business days for the validation of your submission. If the indication turns 'Confirmed OK', you will be able to continue using remittance service after January 1st, 2019.

How to issue a copy of Juminhyo with your Individual Number

NOTICE : City office will be closed from Dec 29, 2018 until Jan 3, 2019.
1) Bring your Residence Card to the closest city office counter where you live.
*If you do not have a Residence Card, Japanese Driving License Card is applicable. As for other applicable IDs, please ask at the counter.
2) Ask to issue a copy of Jumyunhyo(住民票)with Individual Number(個人番号) printed.

How to register Juminhyo with your Individual Number

1) Install the latest version of Smiles APP via App Store or Google Play.
2) Open the APP and tap [Menu].
3) Tap [Account Manager].
4) Select [My Number info].
5) Select [Juminhyo(住民票)] and tap [Next].
6) Type your 12 digits ‘Individual Number’ which is printed on your issued Juminhyo.
7) Take photo of full image of Juminhyo, then upload.
8) Take photo closing up the part covers your name and your individual number, then upload.
9) Tap [Done] to complete.
10) Wait around a couple of business days for the validation of your submission. If the indication turns 'Confirmed OK', you will be able to continue using remittance service after January 1st, 2019.

About ‘My Number’ Card

If you are residing in Japan, you might have received a ‘Notification Card’ first, with the unique ‘Individual Number’ assigned to you. You can also be issued ‘My Number Card’ at the local governmental office in the area where you live.
